Just received my first Hero Arts order from Stampin' Treasures, and had fun playing with some of my new goodies.
I love that in real life no two butterflies or clouds look alike, so I especially like this sentiment for the card. It might make a nice winter card to use the same sentiment with a snowflake, since they are also unique.
The butterfly is stamped from the Antique Engravings set using the rock 'n roll technique with Memento Tangelo and Lady Bug inks. I thought it might be interesting to do some extra overlapping for the challenge, so I then masked the butterfly and stamped the cloud stamp in Memento Summer Sky ink. Finally, I stamped the sentiment from the Happiness Messages set directly onto the butterfly with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I didn't take a picture of it, but the clouds are stamped and continued on the back of the card too.
I did several versions of this card. Here is a simpler version without the clouds.
And here is a more masculine, natural version with a PTI woodgrain background and rustic cream paper. The woodgrain and edges are sponged with PTI Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo.
That's all for today! Be sure to check out the Simplicity blog and play along. It's a lot of fun!
Have a wonderful, sunshine-filled day! :)
I like the different variations that you did of the card. The one with my cards is my favorite of the 3. :)
Great cards! I love the look of the woodgrain with the buterfly - so natural!
These cards came out great!
I love your masking! The woodgrain one is my personal favorite. But they all look awesome!
love your cards....we were almost on the same wave length!
GREAT cards! Love how you tried three different versions of the same card, and that you used the clouds stamp especially because I LOVE that stamp but am finding it hard to use. Thanks for the inspiration and for playing along with the challenge!
These are ALL awesome Monica! Isn't this a fun challenge!
Love each of your cards...all so different! Awesome work!
great layout. love the 3 versions, but I think #2 is my favorite. isn't it fun to find a terrific layout and make it work?
You are so like me in that once you get started, you have to make multiples! Thank goodness. I thought I was the only odd one that got so inspired by these great challenges and couldn't seem to stop. Love the butterflies and how each one looks different. Good job!
Love all 3 of your happy butterfly cards!
I love all your variations...the sentiment is just perfect for the butterfly!
Love all the cards, Monica! The backgrounds really change the feel of each card. I love the sentiment you chose . . . perfect!
Thanks for stopping by by blog and taking time to comment . . . much appreciated.
I love your cards Monica. The clouds are so pretty and soft with the butterfly and sentiment.
Beautiful cards Monica! they look stunning!
Monica, your single layer cards are wonderful! You've inspired me to give this try...I love your color choices. Thanks for the really sweet comment on my card by the way...it made my day. Have a good one!
