Wish Big!

Hi there! :) Hope you're having a great summer! The past few days we've been getting things ready for our trip to Europe. We go every summer to visit my mother-in-law in Croatia and we can't wait to see her. Just thought I'd stop by real quick to post a card I just finished.

This card was a lot of fun to make! I used embossing powders, which I had been neglecting for awhile, and also a ton of bling. I had a birthday card in mind when I made it, but I realize now that it might also work for a New Years fireworks card or a Congrats card too.

So here's today's card, Wish Big.

I saw this fun card by Michele, and it inspired me to use a black base for my card. I stamped the sentiment from Big and Bold Wishes and embossed half in Rouge and half in Neon Amber. I stamped the largest circle from the Shapes by Design stamp set several times in Versamark ink. Then I lightly dusted Zing embossing powder at an angle on all the circles.

I had a lot of fun adding all the gemstones to the card! I usually tend to hold onto them, so it was fun just letting go and adding lots of bling.

Ok, I've got to get back to packing! Thanks for taking a look. I appreciate you stopping by. Have a wonderful, sunny day!

ETA: A big thank you to Nichole for featuring this card in the Papertrey Ink August newsletter!!

All supplies are Papertrey Ink, unless otherwise listed.
STAMPS: Big and Bold Wishes, Shapes by Design
INK: Versamark
PAPER: True Black, Summer Sunrise
OTHER: Gemstones (Michaels), Zing embossing powder-Neon Amber, Rouge, Aqua (American Crafts)

Happy Birthday, Jackson! :)

My nephew is turning 4 years old today! Happy Birthday, Jackson! :) I sent him a birthday card to celebrate. My sister told me that the theme for his birthday is dinosaurs, so I made him a card with a reptile look to it. He is just learning to spell his name, so I'm hoping he recognizes his name on the card!

Here is the card that I sent him.

I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then brushed it randomly with Versamark ink so it would look more reptile/leather-like. I added green zig-zag border to look like scales. I was inspired by Nichole's card. I stamped his name with PTI Outlines Alphabet (a must-have set!) and colored it with copics. The sentiment is from PTI Birthday Basics.

Here's the inside.

The dinosaur is from PTI Tiny Treats: Valentine and I added a sentiment from Birthday Basics. I love that the cute images from this Valentine's set can still be used year round. They are so great for children's cards.

I taped a gift card holder to the inside of the card. You can read more about the gift card holder in my post here.

A close-up of the sentiment.

Our cat, Ashley, had to inspect the card and make sure she approved! :)

That's all for today. Thanks so much for visiting and taking a look!

Have a sunny day! :)

Pallenge No. 6 - Springtime Flowers Challenge

Today's card is one that I made for the Papertrey Pals Challenge No. 6. It was my turn to assign a challenge, so I said to use any type of flower to make a card to welcome spring. I also took this to my office to add to the collection of cards we have there, which we hand out to the employees when it's their birthday.

Here is my card, Happy Birthday.

I stamped a flower from PTI's brand new Beautiful Blooms II set using several Memento dye inks: Tangelo orange, Rose Bud pink and Lady Bug red. I first stamped the entire flower with orange and then randomly added pink and red inks around the edges and center to give it a more natural flower-like look. Then I stamped the sentiment from PTI Birthday Basics with Memento's Bamboo Leaves ink.

The card is embossed using a large classic rectangles nestabilities die, using Nichole's technique: here. I lined scor-tape around the outside edge and added prisma glitter to give it some shine. I finished the card with a light green gemstone in the center of the flower.

Thanks so much for taking a peek at my blog. I appreciate it so much!

Have a wonderful, sunshine-filled day! :)

Wishing You a Happy Birthday...

Happy Sunday! Hope you've had a nice weekend. :) I have been making cards like crazy over the past couple days. I'm usually pretty slow when making my cards, but I'm working on a card project for my office so have had to pick up the pace a little bit.

At my office we have a stash of cards on hand for special occasions. I was looking through it recently and thought why not make some cards to add to it? We also hand out cards to each person in the office when it's their birthday, so I made several birthday cards too.

Here is one of the birthday cards I made for our office.

I used PTI Star Prints (one of my all time favorite PTI sets), and the sentiment is from Through the Trees set. The labels frame is from Waltzingmouse's Very Vintage Labels No.1. This is my first time using PTI's impression plates and I got to say, it is so awesome! Love the detail that it adds. I liked how the plaid stripes work with the star image.

That's all for now, but I'm going to post all of the cards I made over the next few days. I've already got the posts scheduled, so be sure to stop back by if you get a chance! Thanks so much for taking a peek at my blog. I appreciate so much that you stopped by.

Wishing you a sunny day! :)
